Dr. Kevin Coppola

Dr. Kevin Coppola was born and raised in the north side of San Antonio, where he was exposed to dentistry at an early age. He spent many hours at Northeast Children’s Dentistry, which his father, Dr. William Coppola, owned (mainly trying to beat the Donkey Kong high score held by his sister, Dr. Lauren Greene). He studied at the McCombs School of Business at UT Austin, where he was nominated to be a Silver Spur and take care of the mascot, Bevo and was also on the nationally televised show Family Feud: College edition.

After spending 4 years studying in Austin, Dr. Coppola returned to San Antonio to study dentistry at UTHSCSA, followed by a 2 year residency in pediatric dentistry in Laredo, TX. He is a Past President of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry where he advocates for children’s oral health. As the first two year president in the history of the organization, Dr. Coppola was able to push legislature through State Congress that medical insurances must cover general anesthesia for medically necessary dental procedures, saving parents thousands of dollars and ensuring their children would have their dental work done safely. He was also able to enact policies that would encourage specialists to stay in the Medicaid program so that children all over the state could be seen by pediatric dentists regardless of their income.

Dr. Coppola is on the advisory committee of Clearly Aligned (an Invisalign educational group) and gives lectures on behalf of Clearly Aligned and Invisalign as well.

You can see him biking around downtown San Antonio with his wife, DJing soft rock hits at local bars and restaurants, or at the dog park with his best friends, Boz Waggs, Churro (the Shiba Inus) and Taco (SA Pets Alive Special, honorary Shiba).
